Truckee Oktoberfest

Prost! Truckee is putting its own spin on Oktoberfest with a full weekend of beer, bites, live music, outdoor adventures and plenty of Truckee style fun.

Truckee Oktoberfest is a community-wide celebration built by the local businesses that make this town what it is. Grab a coffee, hit a trail, wander downtown, browse the shops, listen to some live music, drink a beer and maybe test your pretzel-relay skills while you’re at it.

This is the first year of Truckee Oktoberfest, and we’re pretty excited to be part of the beginning of a new fall tradition.

From brat tosses and stein holding to fall hikes, morning miles, yoga, live music and a tour of Truckee’s local breweries, Oktoberfest is taking over Jibboom Street for one big fall weekend.

Come for an event or build your own lineup to make a full weekend of it. Just bring your Oktoberfest spirit, and your best lederhosen.

Oktoberfest at Tahoe Mountain Life

We’re joining the fun with three ways to get outside, get festive and celebrate fall in Truckee.

🥾 Truckee Oktoberfest Trail Challenge

Why limit Oktoberfest to downtown? Get out and enjoy the fall colors on three of our favorite local trails during Oktoberfest week.

Complete one, or all three, of the featured hikes to score prizes along the way and earn entries to win a $250 Tahoe Mountain Sports/Tahoe Mountain Life gift card.

The grand prize winner will be drawn Saturday, October 10th at Tahoe Mountain Life during our Best Facial Hair & Best Dressed Competition. You must be present to win.

🏃 Oktoberfest Warm-Up Fun Run with Arc’teryx

Before the steins come out, get a few miles in with us!

Meet us at Tahoe Mountain Life at 9:30 AM Saturday, October 10, with the run heading out at 10 AM. Go out and back for whatever distance feels good or join us for the full 5-mile loop.

Arc’teryx will have free demo shoes available to try during the run, and when we get back we’ll have Oktoberfest-themed pastries, coffee and shopping specials courtesy of Arc’teryx and Coffeebar.

And if you really want to commit to the theme, show up in traditional Oktoberfest attire to score some bonus DPMR swag.

🍻 Best Dressed + Best Facial Hair Contest

Got the lederhosen? A dirndl? A mustache you've been waiting all year to show off?

Head to Tahoe Mountain Life Saturday afternoon for our Best Dressed Individual, Best Dressed Couple and Best Facial Hair contests, sponsored by Howler Bros and Unicorn Snot.

Winners will be decided by a combination of crowd vote and our judging panel, with prizes for all three categories — and everyone who enters gets a participation prize!

When: Saturday, October 10, 3–4 PM

Registration: None! Just show up at 3 PM.

We’ll wrap things up in time to keep the Oktoberfest festivities rolling around downtown Truckee.

🎥 Wind Down the Weekend with Rab’s Feathers Film Tour

After a full weekend of Oktoberfest festivities, settle in Sunday night for a lineup of outdoor films from Rab’s Feathers Film Tour.

From free climbing a never-before-climbed granite line in Chile and navigating love and risk in the mountains of western Norway to the wonderfully muddy world of fell running and an adventure deep into British Columbia, the evening brings together four films celebrating the people, places and experiences that keep pulling us outside.
