Truckee-Tahoe is buzzing during July 4th weekend. Even though some events have been canceled to keep our community as safe as possible, there is still tons of fun to be had. It’s a fun time to get together with friends and family and enjoy the gorgeous weather and festivities. Truckee Saturday Farmers Market

Take the family downtown to the Truckee Railyard parking lot for Truckee Saturday Farmers Market. This event is hosted by Little Roots Farm and sponsored by Slow Food Lake Tahoe. Shop local and go home with some fresh produce for grilling.

Sunset Live Music Series

Head to the village at Squaw Resort for this fun night of live music. There will be two stages with live music, lots of craft beer and cider, and activities like yoga, a beer run, and more!

When: July 3rd from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Sunset Kayak Tour

Join Tahoe Adventure Company for a sunset kayak tour on fourth of July weekend! This is a great way to learn about the natural and cultural history of Tahoe and enjoy the evening colors from the water.

When: Friday, July 2nd from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Where: Tahoe Vista Recreation Area

Local Heroes Parade

The parade starts at 10:00 on Incline Way with the IVGID Kids’ Bike Parade at Incline Middle School. Parade Route: The Local Heroes Parade begins at 926 Incline Way beginning at Incline Bowl, past IMS, Parasol, Rec Center, turning onto Country Club, and ending at Primm Library at Sierra Nevada University.

Float the Truckee River

Enjoy a five-mile float (about 2.5 hours) down the scenic Truckee River. This float is perfect for family and friends of all ages. You’ll cruise through mellow and serene areas with picturesque mountain views, perfect swimming holes, and various picnic spots. Bring the dogs and your own lunch and drinks. Rent a raft and get your own shuttle, or blow up your own tubes and set your own shuttle. No matter how you do it, you are going to have a great time!

Escape the Crowds and Go Backpacking

Wanting to enjoy a more quiet Fourth of July and escape the crowds that the holiday weekend brings? There is endless backpacking options in the Truckee-Tahoe area. You can backpack out to an Alpine lake, camp along a trickling river, take in stunning views from a peak. The choice is yours.
