The trail options in the Truckee/Tahoe region are nearly endless at this time of year! There are also plenty of family friendly trails so everyone can get out and enjoy some fresh air this holiday weekend. If snow is covering the ground, the Legacy Trail is a beautiful walk along the Truckee River that is plowed throughout the year! Depending on the weather you can walk, run, hike, bike, or maybe even snowshoe all around Truckee this holiday weekend. Feel free to stop into TMS for trail suggestions!

Check Out Opening Weekend at the Local Ski Resorts
Palisades Tahoe is set to open November 22nd (weather dependent) and Northstar California, November 17th. Both resorts have awesome villages with shopping and dining too. New for this year at both locations is parking reservations, so be sure to check that out prior to heading up! Sugarbowl will be right behind Palisades with an opening date of Friday, November 24th. Finally, there's Boreal also opening on Friday, the 17th of November. FYI, they are the only resort in the area with night skiing until 9pm!
Get in the Holiday Spirit Downtown Truckee

Visit our downtown store, Tahoe Mountain Life, then have a walk around to check out the festive lights. The holiday lights will be in full force and you can even use the brand new, free, on demand shuttle, TART Connect to get downtown! Say no more to the hassle of parking and driving yourself through town this holiday season. The service is available from 6:30am - 10pm.
Go Rock Climbing
You could be skiing or climbing this holiday weekend, or both! Now that High Altitude in Truckee is open, you can climb year round. And TMS carries climbing gear year round too! The weather can be finicky at this time of year, so if you are looking to get active after a holiday feast, this is a great indoor option that the entire family can enjoy.
