We invite you to join us and the experts from Southern Yosemite Mountain Guides (SYMG) on May 11, 2016 for “Prepared to Backpack.” Doors open at 6 p.m., presentation begins at 6:30 at the TMS store located at 11200 Donner Pass Rd, Truckee CA. This is a free, in-store event, sponsored by Deuter, which will help attendees prepare for a successful summer on the trails.

From a weekend in Desolation Wilderness to three weeks on the John Muir Trail, this event is a great kick-off to the summer hiking season. Whether you want to go for two or 21 days, the experts at SYMG will give you all the knowledge and tools you need to make your trip a success, including:

Laura Steinbach has been guiding in Yosemite and the High Sierra for over a decade. She’s a veteran of the John Muir and Pacific Crest Trails and is the Senior Backcountry Guide at Southern Yosemite Mountain Guides (SYMG) for whom she leads expedition-style multi-week trips. She currently lives in South Lake Tahoe and can be found backpacking, rock climbing, backcountry skiing and mountain biking at every free moment she can find.
